A New Initiative for Young Drivers Covering a Wide Range Skills and Knowledge!

Half day courses also available from only £139.00

The format of the course is a brand new initative that has been developed by DriverSkills for young drivers who want to improve their skills and knowledge. The basic format involves learning skid control and anti lock braking on our dynamics training area and on road advanced driving on road in the local area.

Skid Control Training | Skid Avoidance | Motorway Driving | Understanding Your Car | Safer Driving in Adverse Conditions

This course goes much further than Pass Plus and is totally unique for the U.K. Young drivers can learn new skills and prepare for any eventualities that may happen throughout their driving career.

Young Drivers Are At Risk!

Figures show that a third more Young Drivers are being killed on UK roads despite a fall in the number of young motorists with driving licences. The total number of deaths per 100,000 of young licence holders went up from 9.7 in 2000 to 19.2 in 2004.

What are we offering young drivers?

The full day course (7 hours) is divided into two parts and includes in car demonstrations and practical training along with a short informative PowerPoint presentation. For a preview of the skid control element of the training follow this link Preview Video

Who will provide the practical training?

On road defensive driver training including motorway skills will be provided by DSA approved road instructors.
Skid control and dynamics skills will be provided by experienced motorsport instructors.

What do you need to provide?

We supply the car and all the equipment needed for the Skid Pan Training. The On Road Advanced Driving element takes place in your own vehicle (we can also supply a training vehicle at a small extra cost) so it will need to be road worthy and the instructor will ask to see your licence and all relevant vehicle documentation.

Where and when do these Young Driver courses take place?

Young Driver Testimonials...

We have recently provided young driver courses working with local authorities in the north yorkshire area. Here are some of the comments from participants.

John from Durham took part in our last young drivers course: "Thoroughly enjoyed the day with the DriverSkills team! I found the day to be very informative and it covered all the relevant areas"

Michael from Selby also took part in the course: "Had a fantastic day on the track! As I had only recently passed my driving test and was a little nervous about driving on my own, I found the course gave me the knowledge and insight into what was to come! I have now grown in confidence and driving is now much more enjoyable"

Anna from Darlington booked a 1/2 day on the Skid Pan: "It was a such good fun on the skid pan, you get to learn many characteristics and responses from the car as it is put into such situations"
