Last winter we were inundated with requests for information and tips on how to drive safely in snow and ice. Firstly, there is no magic technique! It's all about being aware, being prepared and adapting your driving to the conditions.

Its All About Grip!

Your tyres are probably the most important component on your vehicle especially in snow and slush conditions. The legal minimum requirement of tread depth is 1.6mm over ‚¾ of the tyres tread width with no visible bald areas. In snow however, especially if your tyres are more of a summer type tread pattern, i.e. lots of flat rubber areas without treads, anything less than 4mm will render your tyres fairly useless.
