Many of the companies that use Driver Skills for defensive driver training enjoy combining their training with a meeting in the City of York. By combining some fun driver training with a conference or other internal meeting, it can be a very cost effective way to bring teams together in a beautiful location.

International Paper is one of the world’s leading producers of fiber-based packaging, pulp and paper, with 55,000 employees operating in more than 24 countries.

International Paper have visited Driver Skills twice now for their Driver Training. The team made the most of our location in York and took the chance to bring their team together and enjoy an evening event the day before the driving programme. The sales team travel many miles over the course of a year both in the UK and overseas so safety in the workplace is the International Paper’s number one priority. The team spent the day with us to achieve higher levels of safety by completing our Skid Pan Training and Defensive Driver Training programmes.

Each driver was assessed by our on road instructors and a written assessment was provided to give both the company and the driver peace of mind when travelling. A certificate of completion of the skid pan and evasive driving on track provides a great memory of the day and ensures that driver training can be fun and enjoyable.

“On behalf of International Paper UK Limited I would like to thanks Driver Skills Ltd for your professionalism and attention to our brief , in relation to the training our organization. International Paper has safety in the workplace as our number one priority globally, and each year my commercial team needs to undertake defensive and safety based driving courses to ensure we recognize and deliver on the companies policies. Driver Skills were excellent and we also invited clients sales teams to attend the day held in York. We will do the same next year and look forward to working with your team once again. I would not hesitate to recommend your team and business to any other organization where safety is a key priority. Looking forward to working with you again”
