About DriverSkills

DriverSkills was established in 2005 by motorsports instructor Lionel Firn

Lionel’s idea was to provide the very best training facilities and instructors for ANYONE who wanted to improve their driving skills. Above all else, Lionel wanted to provide a thrilling driving experience and to leave drivers with a legacy of skills they will never forget

To meet these objectives Lionel has gathered together a team of instructors who were all handpicked from the world of Race and Rally Car Driving or selected because of their ADI on-road training and experience.

Race and Rally Driving

Your instructor is the most important part of any driving experience, so we scoured the world of Race and Rally Driving to bring them to DriverSkills.

Every member of our on-track team has competed in motorsport for many years at a high level and most are Race or Rally driving champions. Our team are also regularly used by car manufacturers as high speed drivers for new vehicle launches and training events.

International Team

Some of our team have also worked for the US State Department, providing anti-terrorist driver training for bodyguards who protect heads of state.

More recently, two travelled to the USA to run a four-day combat driver training course for a team of US Special Forces (SEALS). Very few civilian teams have ever provided such training, so this is quite an honour for DriverSkills!

The Advanced Road Driving Team

In keeping with the high standards we set for our track-based courses our advanced road driving instructors are also the best in their field. All our on-road team are fully qualified DSA advanced driving instructors and many also have years of police experience under their belts.

Our Venue

Whether they are racers or advanced road drivers, our people use a venue which allows drivers to put their foot down in a safe environment. We believe this is probably the best venue available for this type of training in the UK. Take a look for yourself.
